When Dale Wilson and Alice Showalter married and began farming in Mondovi, Washington, they likely never imagined the legacy of scholarships they would one day create. With no children of their own, they established numerous scholarships to benefit area youth. One scholarship was created specifically to support those living in the Mondovi farming community and gives preference to the descendants of those who worked on their farm. Named the Dale Wilson / Mondovi Grange Scholarship Fund in 1982, it was the first scholarship fund established at INWCF.

To distinguish this scholarship from other Dale Wilson scholarships and to recognize that the Wilson's farm included land that had been in his wife Alice Showalter's family for generations, the committee recently recommended a new name: The Wilson Farm / Mondovi Grange Scholarship.

Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates of Lincoln County, Washington schools, or from that part of Spokane County in the Reardan-Edwall School District, or a direct descendant of someone previously employed by Dale D. Wilson regardless of their current residence location.  Preference will be given to descendants of Dale D. Wilson's employees and to those in the Mondovi Grange area (Reardan-Edwall and Davenport school districts).

Application is made through the INWCF website beginning the first week of December and due March 1. Recipients may re-apply in subsequent years.
