You would like to give, but you aren’t sure if you are ready? There are a variety of ways to give later. You may contact our Director of Gift Planning PJ Watters to set up an appointment or if you have a question. Below is a description of some of the ways you can leave a legacy for the future of our community.

  1. Bequests may enable you to reduce your estate taxes while supporting your community. Click here for sample language to include in a will.
  2. Life insurance can be used as a charitable asset.  You may be eligible for a charitable tax deduction based on the current value of the paid-up policy.
  3. Retirement Fund Plans can be used to support your charitable interests while achieving significant tax advantages for your heirs.
  4. Charitable Remainder Trusts or CRTs allow you to receive income (or provide income for another person) for life or a number of years.  The CRT is setup so the funds remaining when the trust terminates will be used to support your charitable interests.
  5. Charitable Lead Trusts or CLTs enable you to significantly lower gift and estate taxes for your children and grandchildren by donating part of your estate to the Trust with the income going to a charitable fund at the Foundation for a period of time. When the trust is terminated —for example, when your children or grandchildren reach a certain age — the assets return back to the family.
  6. Retained Life Estates ensure that you -- or another person -- has lifetime security in a home you have given to the Foundation as a charitable contribution.
