Position: The Council strongly supports permanently extending the IRA charitable rollover and expanding the provision to remove limitations on the age of donors and the size of the gifts and to permit charitable rollovers to donor-advised funds, supporting organizations, and private foundations. IRA Rollover Bill

On Thursday, March 10 Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Olympia Snowe (R-ME) introduced the “Public Good IRA Rollover Act of 2011” in the Senate (S. 557) to extend the IRA charitable rollover beyond 2011 and allow gifts to be made to donor-advised funds. Click here to read more about this bill.
