Recently Awarded Grants Print E-mail

Last year alone, charitable funds at INWCF allowed us to award 620 grants totaling $2,775,716. These grants covered a wide range of giving interests, including human services, economic development, education, community development, arts and culture, and the environment. Here are just a few of the results from those grants: 

  • Provided one-stop services for Spokane's homeless community.
  • Increased conservation services to property owners to help protect wildlife habitats along the Clark Fork River and Lake Pend Oreille.
  • Helped people living in emergency and temporary housing raise their own fruits and vegetables to feed their families in a plot of their own.
  • Promoted opportunities for healing and creative self-expression to women in transition from violent relationships, drug abuse or imprisonment.
  •  Reached out to families in crisis with hope and help to find resources and achieve solutions.
  • Provided mental health counseling, housing and life skills instruction to mothers struggling to support their children.
  • Developed a water-wise, low-maintenance demonstration garden at the Moscow Library.
  •  Harnessed children's dramatic talents in eight performances in the Touchet Valley.
  • Renovated a rural community center building to meet fire codes.
  • Organized 46 university students to serve as role models for 400 at-risk youth and supplied the children with healthy meals.
  • Engaged 15 boys at high risk to drop out from high school to form teams and use technology and interactive media to get connected with their community and their new high school.
  • Helped teenage boys with substance abuse problems in North Idaho learn positive behaviors that will improve their health and success.
