Florence Wasmer Fund for Children & Families

It was Florence Wasmer's desire that a portion of her charitable legacy benefit individuals and families who may not otherwise have their basic needs met. This fund awards grants to organizations whose mission is to provide support to children, families and individuals in the form of shelter, nutrition, health care, education and other human services. Grant amounts typically are between $1,000 and $10,000.

Guidelines

This fund awards grants to organizations and programs whose mission is:

To provide support to children, families and individuals in the form of shelter, nutrition, health care, education and other human services.

Preference will be given to organizations:

Whose mission and programs include the development of self-sufficiency among those served, and
Whose governance, planning, and implementation processes include meaningful participation by those served.

To be considered for funding, organizations and projects should demonstrate one or more of the following:

Relevance to the community served
Effective organizational governance
Effective organizational and program/project management
Sound financial practices
