Florence Wasmer was a student, admirer, advocate and supporter of artistic and cultural endeavors throughout her life. It was her desire that the people of this region always be able to experience the highest quality programs in the arts and humanities. Established at Inland Northwest Community Foundation in 2002, the Florence Wasmer Fund for Arts and Culture has provided more than $700,000 throughout Eastern Washington and North Idaho through the Florence Wasmer Fund for Arts and Culture grant program.
Beginning in 2015, this fund will become one of approximately 70 donor-established funds that work together to support grants through the Foundation's Community Strategies Grant Program. In keeping with the wishes of Florence Wasmer, the fund will continue to support grants to organizations and programs whose mission is to further education, enjoyment and awareness of the arts and humanities in the Inland Northwest.
Organizations that typically would apply to the this program should now apply through the Community Strategies Grant program, which is offered two times per year. The next Community Strategies grant round opens on July 13, 2015 and funds will be awarded in December 2015.
